Einfach Genial diese App :) Verdient 1000 Sterne.

Ganz im Sinn von Orphinio, sitze ich „leider“ nur vor meinem iPhone und touche „tauche“ in die Welt aus Klängen und muss dabei an die Geschichte eine kleinen „orphelin“ (franz. Waisenkind) denken was in seiner eigenen kleinen Welt lebt. Meine besteht aus Klang und Melodie. Orphinio lebt davon das man mit seinen Händen und Ohren in eine Klangteppich eintaucht der durch die Bewegung, den Winkel der Finger ganz organisch eine Urbane Melodie erzeugt. Erinnert an Lykke Li und dephazz ist das App nicht nur für die Ohren, Honig für die Seele, sondern lässt uns spielerisch auch Ton und Melodie begreifen und fühlen. Einfach mal gut investiertes Geld in ein App für Nachmittage allein und in einer chilligen Gruppe.

Bereits einmal im konzert eingesetzt, muss ich sagen, dass diese App auch für einen blinden Musiker wie mich gut zu spielen bzw. zu erlernen ist. Lediglich die Einführung ist noch nicht barrierefrei.

Nutze schon eine Weile Orphion (iPad), was Dynamik und Co. recht gut nutzt. Das hier auf dem 6s+ ist jedoch noch besser, da es die Druckdynamik / 3D Touch nutzt und die Schüttel-Funktion ist auch super. Gerade WEIL das iPhone eben klein genug ist, dies zu tun. Gut als Steuerung für MIDI-Sachen die nicht so dynamisch sind - leider etwas „langweilige“ Klangerzeugung - für mich ein Controller der das iPad gut nutzt (Accelerometer und Gyro) um Velocity und Co. zu erhalten - ein kleiner Sampler oder so wäre schon gut. Aber man kann es ja so nutzen wie ich sagte. Schöne Idee auf gute Weise weiter gebracht.

Great app, but needs customizable layouts like it's iPad counterpart

The sound distorts quite badly through the speaker on my iPhone 6S Plus running iOS 9.1. Other sound-making apps do not do this.

The iPad app Orphion triggered my re-interest in electronic/digital music. It's fantastic to finally have an even more portable instrument to play with. My 10 month old granddaughter loves it too!

I bought Orphion for the iPad and liked it, but didn't even realize there was an iPhone version. Upon discovering it was only 99 cents, it was an easy decision to try it out. The iPhone version sounds great, and even the smaller screen wasn't a huge problem because it was nice to hold the device and use both thumbs to reach the whole screen. As a MIDI controller, the app is excellent. I don't think it does velocity control (or I didn't figure it out), which is too bad. But the feeling of controlling a powerful synth library with the clean, neat interface of this app is pretty great. Really the only problem I have with the app is the once cited multiple times by other reviewers, which is that this iPhone version does not allow you to set up your own pad arrangements. There are probably about 10 of them available, and you can transpose them up or down with the sharp/flat buttons. But that leaves a pretty limited set of options. In the iPad version, there is a 99 cent in-app purchase to edit your own pad arrangements. Perhaps the developer thought the iPhone screen was too small for that, but some type of solution is needed, or the app is just a bit too limited in its usefulness. That problem aside, I really enjoy the interface and the sound of the instrument, which is sort of like a percussive plucked string. Certainly worth 99 cents, but could be better with more control options.

I would love the option of changing keys and moving further up and down the scale easily.

This is an incredible instrument but it is limited compared to it's big brother Orphion. I really wish there was an option to edit the notes/scales, at least give us more than 9 presets. It just seems like a demo version of Orphion. Here's and idea, why not just make Orphion for the iPhone? Or just give iPhone users the option to purchase the editor, like in Orphion. Why give iPhone users a lesser version? It's just a missed opportunity for the developer to make more money and have the app reach a wider audience. As it stands now, it seems like a demo/toy and I can't really use it they way I'd like. Such a shame for what could be one of the best midi controllers on the iTunes Store.

If you aren't creative this is not for you. If you are get it cause it's completely amazing and simple and I haven't even explored the midi yet.

the sound is really nice, especially with bass tones. works great at controlling other apps that accept midi. not able to edit the layouts and scales though. as a result it's much more limited than the ipad version.

A really great app. It lacks one thing: to ability to create custom layouts.

It would be really sweet if you could change the sound up more than just wet/dry and reverb! As it is, I probably wouldn't recommend paying for this app to any of my friends- Throwing in more sound options and maybe the ability to customize the layout would do it though!

Really cool app, even though the iPhone doesn't have much real estate to work with. It would be nice to have a way to edit the layouts or maybe download some more, so that you could set up a specific song or chain of songs.

...but if you are sporting an iPhone 5 or screen just as small as I am using and coming from an iPad, you will notice the room limitations. But like everything else, even the larger and more customisable Orphion, you learn that certain sides of your fingers, knuckles, palms etc, will still work to achieve desired sounds with adjustments. My interest is not so heavy on the rhythm/ guitar aspect as much as percussion but for some reason I do get better results with lets say (plucking) on the phone, Also (and this is a device thing) IMO without earphones the iPhone provides a better sound quality. I have major sound problems anyway with my iPad retina so this could just be my own device issue. I really love both of these apps and you can create some great soundscapes with both without being a musician but by being exposed to the notes and experimenting, a beginner will pick up on notes and achieve at least a rudimentary understanding. Both apps from this developer are so unique plus he does answer emails. Def well worth the price and much more.

I've been using Orphion sense it's early versions, and to me it is a totally unique kind of instrument and less like a MIDI controller compared to any other MIDI controllers for iPad. Orphiono is very much the same without a couple minor features, to me the absent features by no means takes away from the value the app. I would however suggest that the option to create your own layouts is perhaps more important on the iPhone than on the iPad, considering the lack of screen space on the iPhone. Midi works perfectly in my case, I had no problems getting orphiono to work with any other app that I have tried. Another suggestion, it might be possible to relay the softer sounds from stroking pads by, for example sending softer sounds to MIDI channel 1 and plucked sounds to MIDI channel 2 and have two different synthesizers play controlled via orphiono. Orphion as a complex sound with depth and dynamics that can't be relayed by playing one synthesizer. This is a really great app and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Terrible default sound. Nowhere as good as Orphion, and I cannot get midi to work. I hit two strokes and then the sound completely drops out. Just got it and already sorry I spent money. I feel a little swindled.

I am really impressed! I love apps like this and they are few and far between. Using this as a midi controller just blows my mind away. The built in sound is cool also. The dev should add sound packs as an update or IAP. Awesome app I'm loving it. I wish there were more than just the 9 scales though.

What the hell is this?!!! I've been a big fan, but you release a disabled half-baked iPhone version and charge $2 USD?!! I never as for my money back but I am now! ONE sound, horrible tinny sound, on my iPhone 5S, with STATIC! And I have EVERY MUSIC APP known on the App Store! One trick pony! I suggest you SHOOT IT!
